Questions, answered
My parent is not comfortable with technology. Will this work?+
Yes - that is the entire design. Your parent receives a link by text message or email. One tap opens the biographer. No passwords, no accounts, no apps to install, no typing, ever. If they can answer a phone call, they can do this.
What languages are supported?+
English, German, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, and Mandarin Chinese - and the storyteller and the family can use different ones. Your mother can tell her story in Spanish while you review and read it in English. Every chapter exists in both languages.
How long is each session?+
Twenty to thirty minutes, once a week. The biographer follows your parent's energy - it never rushes, and your parent can pause or stop at any time without losing anything.
What if my parent pauses a lot, or loses the thread?+
The biographer is built for exactly that. It waits patiently through long pauses, gently offers the thread back when asked, and never interrupts. Long silences are where the best stories live.
Who can read the chapters, and who controls the book?+
You do. Chapters are private to you and the people you invite. You review every chapter before it is sealed, and anything your parent prefers to keep out of print stays out.
What happens to the recordings? Is this private?+
Recordings and chapters are encrypted and belong to your family - they are never used to train AI models or shared with anyone. In the very first session, the biographer explains in plain language what is recorded and asks for your parent's consent. You can export everything, and deletion on request is permanent.
What if we are short on time, or facing illness?+
Legacy Express moves to two or three sessions per week with priority processing, so the full story can be completed in 18-26 weeks instead of a year.
What does the printed book actually look like?+
A 200-page, full-color, library-bound hardcover on acid-free paper, with gold-foil spine lettering - the kind of book that sits face-out on the shelf.
What if my parent stops after a few weeks?+
Pacing adapts to them. Sessions can be paused, slowed down, or compressed - and whatever has been told is already preserved and yours to keep.
