Privacy Policy

LegacyStream helps families preserve life stories. Because those stories are deeply personal, protecting them is the core of our service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you and the storyteller have.
Who is responsible
The family member who purchases a project (the "Giver") and LegacyStream act together as controllers of the storyteller's (the "Hero's") personal data. You can reach us at support@legacystream.com for any privacy request.
What we collect
Account data: the Giver's name, email, and authentication details.
Project data the Giver provides: the Hero's name, key dates, relationships, and the family memories used to guide interviews.
Interview data: audio recordings of sessions, their transcripts, and the chapters generated from them.
Photos the family uploads to chapters.
Technical data needed to run the service (e.g. session and payment records).
The storyteller's consent
Before the first interview begins, the Hero is told in plain language that the conversation is recorded to create their book, and is asked for their agreement. That consent is recorded. The Hero may stop any session at any time, and may ask us to delete their recordings.
How we use the data
To conduct interviews, write and translate chapters, and assemble the final book.
To send invitations, reminders, and review notifications.
To process payment for the chosen package.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your family's stories, recordings, or photos to train AI models.
AI processing
Interviews and chapters are processed by Google's Gemini models to transcribe speech, conduct the conversation, and write the manuscript. This processing happens only to deliver your book.
Storage and security
Data is stored on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure and encrypted at rest. Access is restricted to the Giver, the people they invite, and the systems needed to run the service.
Your rights
You may access, correct, export, or delete the project's data, and withdraw consent, by contacting support@legacystream.com. Where the GDPR applies, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Deletion on request is permanent.
Retention
We keep project data for as long as the project is active and your chosen storage period. You can request earlier deletion at any time.
Changes
We will update this policy as the service evolves and note the date above. Material changes will be communicated to account holders.
